Your payment obligations
It is a misconception that all landlords are wealthy and that your rent is not important to them!
It is important that you pay your rent on time as delays in rental can lead to your landlord incurring fees by their mortgage provider and in some cases can lead to the property being repossessed by the lender. It might even mean that your landlord cannot afford to pay for maintenance work you have requested.
Chase Devonshire requires all tenants to pay their rent via standing order (this is a contractual obligation) Rent should be paid at least 5 days prior to the due date to ensure that your rent is paid on time. This takes in consideration that some banks take 4 – 5 days to transfer funds between accounts.
As with any agreement Chase Devonshire Ltd will charge interest of 4% above the bank of England’s base rate on all rent, that are more than 14 days in arrears.
Chase Devonshire will write to you if your rent is more than 5 days in arrears and will charge an administration fee of £35.00 + VAT. We will charge you the same again for each subsequent letter that is sent in regards to your arrears.
Our advice is to pay your rent on time and by standing order to avoid any unnecessary fees.
